Day 3 SXM to Gib
Noon Position 23deg 42N 52deg 35W
Course – 60 Degrees Speed – 9.5 Knots Day’s Run – 228 Miles
Weather – Mostly sunny with 13’ (4m) swells from NW
Wind – 3 knots from 50 degrees
The rolling last night was not great for sleeping but at least we are not crashing into waves as well. We had a lot of rain overnight giving the rigs a good rinse. This morning I woke to glassy seas with less virtually no wind. The swell was still there though but it made for a spectacular sunrise. The fishing lines have been out since then with freshly made lures. Yesterday we had a strike that took the lure clean off and we brought in the other line to find the hook gone but the knot still there?? Better luck today hopefully.
We are going slower than usual to conserve fuel until we know we are going to get some sailing days and have enough fuel to get to Gib. I’m hoping Tuesday the wind is going to start filling in and giving us some assistance.
